Yi-Han (Audrey) Chou is a dancer, researcher, and multimedia artist based in New York since 2018.
Although growing up in Taipei, her unique exchange international experience since young to Tokyo, Los Angeles, Korea and New York, have shaped her living experience to embrace diverity in the age of globalization.
With a focus on storytelling through bodily movement, her work explores the dynamic interplay between embodiment, nature, humanity, and diversity. Inspired by the natural world and existential theories of temporal unity, Audrey’s artistry is rooted in cultural exchange and the nuanced expressions of kinetic movement, brought to life through rigorous research and experimentation.
Audrey’s creative practice spans a wide array of mediums, with a current emphasis on dance performance, time-based media, audiovisual art, interactive installations, and narrative-driven projects. By seamlessly blurring the boundaries between disciplines, she crafts immersive, multisensory experiences that foster connection, reflection, and healing.
At the heart of her artistic vision lies a steadfast commitment to amplifying marginalized voices. Through meticulous research and innovative storytelling, Audrey illuminates the intricate narratives of immigration, post-war legacies, and the enduring impact of colonization. Her work aspires to weave a timeless narrative tapestry, harmonizing the threads of past experiences, present realities, and future aspirations into transformative expressions of hope, resilience, and renewal.
